Tsunami- train of waves

Tsunami means train of waves. Incredibly, the earthquake causing the tsunami equal a few hundred million Hiroshima’s, which then transfers a portion of that energy to the ocean, creating the tsunami, which would equate to a few hydrogen bombs.

Tragically, lack of education contributed to the hundreds of thousands of deaths in that area. The earthquake, which shook the earth approximately 15-45 minutes prior, should have been enough warning people to head to high ground or inland, if only they had known.

There are so many instances of people running out toward the ocean after the first wave came in and receded almost as far as the eye could see. Of course, minutes later, it came back in and wiped all those poor people out.

I am sure there will be much more attention paid to educating people to heed warnings but unfortunately, it is too late for so many.
