Medicare Is Not Helping The People It's Supposed To Help.

I can't help thinking the new Medicare Prescription Drug Program is made intentionally complex to make it less likely that everyone eligible will sign up...that would certainly save money. It's hard enough for able-bodied Americans to figure some of this stuff out, let alone the nations most vulnerable, the sickest poorest elderly and disabled people. The new Medicare prescription drug program does not seem to be working for the very people it is supposed to help the most because they are either not signing up because the program is so complicated, being turned away or overcharged at pharmacies, or not able to get medicine at all.

I read where one elderly man had his leg amputated and could not get the antibiotics needed to make sure infection does not set in. I can't imagine having to make a decision about which of the fifty or more plans to go with after having my leg sawed off.
