Does Thanksgiving Celebrate the American Holocaust?

At one time, approximately four centuries ago, prior to the Europeans arriving, there were anywhere from 19 to 100 million indigenous peoples populating the western hemisphere. By 1970, there were only 250,000. What happened to those people? They were systematically eliminated over hundreds of years.

Yet, we continue to celebrate Thanksgiving, based on the mythological fantasy--created by American expansionists--of America, the "shining city upon a hill," who because of its special virtues, was destined to redeem and remake the west, and now, apparently, the world. According to former the Chairman of the  Anthropology department at University of Connecticut, William B. Newell, Thanksgiving Day is historically based on gratitude for genocide.

“William B. Newell, a Penobscot Indian and former chairman of the Anthropology department at the University of Connecticut, says that the first official Thanksgiving Day celebrated the massacre of 700 Indian men, women and children during one of their religious ceremonies. "Thanksgiving Day" was first proclaimed by the Governor of the then Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1637 to commemorate the massacre of 700 men, women and children who were celebrating their annual Green Corn Dance...Thanksgiving Day to the, "in their own house", Newell stated.

"Gathered in this place of meeting, they were attacked by mercenaries and English and Dutch. The Indians were ordered from the building and as they came forth were shot down, The rest were burned alive in the building-----The very next day the governor declared a Thanksgiving Day.....For the next 100 years, every Thanksgiving Day ordained by a Governor was in honor of the bloody victory, thinking God that the battle had been won."

In June 1637 John Underhill slaughtered a pequot village in just the manner described above. Narranganset Indians were used as the mercenaries. Governor John Endicott of the Massachusetts Bay Colony proclaimed the pequot war. A pequot chief of sachem named sassacus warred against the Dutch in 1633 over the death of his father. The pequot made no distinction between the Dutch and the English. The Underhill massacre was witnessed and documented by William Branford and an engraving was made illustration the massacre.

The Jamestown Colony may be the source for the tradition of Indians under the leadership of Powhaton joining with early settlers for a dinner and helping those settlers through the winter. There were no pilgrims of puritans at Jamestown, however. The present Thanksgiving may therefore be a mixture of the tradition of the Jamestown dinner and the commemoration of the Pequot massacre.

The celebration of Thanksgiving as an official holiday possibly roots in the Pequot massacre, while the imagery is of Jamestown with pilgrims, images misused. ”

Even before the concept of Manifest Destiny was put into words, it provided the justification for the largest genocide in history, which raises the question of why we focus so much on the holocaust that took place in Germany during WWII, and not at all on the holocaust that occurred right here, and continues on to the present. Could one of the reasons be that the remaining Native Americans aren't as well funded as the Jewish population? Maybe it's because Hitler applied much of what he learned about the way we dealt with the indigenous people in order to create Nazi Germany, as he did when he studied the plans of Bosque Redondo to design the concentration camps for Jews.

After all, Joanelle Romero, who began putting this film (below), narrated by Ed Asner, together in 1995, originally intended it to be 90 minutes, but due to a lack of funding, this 29 minute version, released in 2001, is all that's been completed, and is quite possibly the only film of its kind.

He was very interested in the way the Indian population had rapidly declined due to epidemics and starvation when the United States government forced them to live on the reservations. He thought the American government's forced migrations of the Indians over great distances to barren reservation land was a deliberate policy of extermination. Just how much Hitler took from the American example of the destruction of the Indian nations is hard to say; however, frightening parallels can be drawn. Big Pharma and the Nazi Roots of the European Union.

Slowly but surely, step by step, over the last six decades, Europe has appeared to be awkwardly stumbling toward a more cohesive union, thee Brussels European Union (EU). I say appeared because the truth is, from the very beginning, dating back to 1938--officially--the path of this union was a carefully planned route to establishing a dictatorship of corporate interests in Europe.

That's right, the people conducting the monstrous medical experiments were only executing the commercial interests of Bayer and Hoecht, who wanted to test their newly patented drugs in Auschwitz and Buchenwald to ready them for the world market. The bottom line here is that the history leading up to the gradual establishment of the EU is much more interesting, and in some ways, much worse, than what's reported in the mainstream media or taught in the schools. Of course, this is true for most of history, but I digress.

Before we get started, please take note of the propaganda terminology, or Nazi Newspeak, that is used in documents, speeches, and articles before, during and after the war. For example, the inscription on the Auschwitz concentration camp that read: "Labor liberates" was this Oil and Drug cartel's Nazi new-speak for extermination through labor.

Okay, back to the Nazi roots of the EU. It was German Scientific Researcher,  Dr. Matthais Rath, former director of the Linus Pauling Institute and now director of the Rath Foundation, who, while investigating problems of human health, discovered approximately 50,000 documents that reveal and prove that the "undemocratic structure of the “Brussels EU” has its roots in the post WWII plans of the IG Farben/Nazi-coalition in a conquered Europe." Moreover, he discovered that patents--in this case, Big Pharma--are used as a tool for obstructing innovation in the area of health and welfare, that the un-patentable--vitamins and other natural substances--are being actively fought against for primarily economic reasons. After all, perpetuating illness is big business.

Here's the dirty little secret that is gradually being exposed through people like Dr. Rath and author of IBM and the Holocaust, amongst several other very well documented books, Edwin Black.  WWII, like WWI was initiated on behalf of the German pharmaceutical/chemical cartel, and other commercial interests. Hitler and the Nazis were merely the ruthless puppets; yes, the corporate interests invested in the Nazis. In fact, unbeknownst to many, after the war, in 1945, 24 men from IG Farben were put on trial for their crimes. The IG Farben cartel became the largest supporter of the Nazi's rise to power, and eventually the rise of the Brussels European Union. The terms 'coalition' and 'marriage' were used during the Nuremberg War Crimes Tribunals to characterize the relationship between the Cartel and the Nazis in preparing and launching WWII.

"The I.G. Farben Trial, the sixth Subsequent Nuremberg Proceeding, was tried by Military Tribunal VI, which had been created by the US Military Government for Germany on August 8, 1947.

An indictment filed on May 3 named 24 defendants, all in the I.G. Farben industrial concern, and listed five counts: the planning, preparation, initiation, and waging of wars of aggression and invasions of other countries; committing war crimes and crimes against humanity through the plunder and spoliation of public and private property in countries and territories that came under German occupation; committing war crimes and crimes against humanity through participating..."

After WW II, in the Nuremberg War Crimes Tribunal, the military and political puppets, the Nazi henchmen, were presented to the world, a few punished for their egregious crimes against humanity, while the engineers of the war, the puppeteers and political experts for the Cartel's conquest plans escaped, receiving at most, a slap on the wrist behind the scenes.

For example, in 1948, the CEO of Bayer, Fritz Ter Meer was sentenced to seven years in prison in the Nuremberg Trials. By 1956, he was not only out of prison, but, once again, chairman of the board at Bayer, the corporate flagship and driving force of the Brussels EU. However, that's only a small part of the story, there is so much more. The European Union was planned well in advance to WW II.  Not to mention,  the overall process began before WW I.

The key architect or founding father (12 founding fathers) of the EU,  known as "the first King of modern Europe" was a man named, Walter Hallstein, a prominent lawyer in Nazi Germany. As a prominent lawyer, he was a member of the delegation, "Working Group of German-Italian Legal Relations," obviously a deceptive cover.  In June 1938, the Hitler regime sent Hallstein to Rome to negotiate with Mussolini's lawyers to lay the dictatorial framework for the EU. His assignment: "to model the 'Brussels EU' after the original plans of the Nazi/IG Farben coalition to rule Europe through a 'Central Cartel Office'."

After the war, Hallstein was interrogated by the Denazification committee of the allies. However, he blatantly denied any association with the Nazis when, in reality, he was associated with the most notorious professional pillar of the Nazi regime  called the Rechtswahrer Organization or the Nazi Association of Law Protectors .

From there he was picked up by the first German chancellor, from the IG Farben cartel, Konrad Adenauer--several chancellors came directly from this cartel--and promoted to first chief negotiator for preparing the Rome treaties, which became the legal foundation of the Brussels EU in 1957. Subsequently, he was promoted by West German government as the first president of the EU commission, and was given a staff of  8,000  to create what we know today as the Brussels EU.

The EU has the exclusive right to initiate legislation. It's an outright dictatorship on behalf of corporate interests masked by the propaganda that praises Europe as the model of peace and prosperity. The ultimate goal is the subjugation of Europe --and later, the entire world--under complete economic, political, and judicial control of the Nazi/IG Farben coalition better known as the "Thousand Year Reich".

Fast forward to today and the global powers have not yet given  up.  Far from it.  While they are forgoing a military attempt to finally institute this global dictatorship, they are, instead, using economic strangulation and political coercion to further their long-term economic and political goals.

Two Races.

Viktor Frankl, after his captivity and abuse at the hands of the Nazis divided humanity into two distinct "races", decent men and indecent men. Frankl noted even amongst the Nazis, despite the rarity, decent men existed.

In particular, the SS commander of his camp, who took pity on the prisoners, and purchased, out of his own pocket, medicines from the nearest market town. At the same time, the senior camp warden, a prisoner himself, beat the other prisoners at every opportunity. Frankl goes on to say that, this SS commander was rewarded for his humanity. After the war, three young Hungarian Jews hid the commander in the Bavarian woods, then went to the commandant of the American forces, who were very eager to catch this SS commander, and stated that they would only disclose his location if it was promised no harm would come to this man. Not only did this commander escape harm, in a sense, he was restored to his position. The American forces put him in charge of distributing the clothing collected from neighboring towns to the former prisoners who had nothing but the now tattered clothes inherited from those immediately sent to the gas chambers upon arrival.

"...that there are two races of men in this world, but only these two -- the "race" of the decent man and the "race" of the indecent man. Both are found everywhere; they penetrate into all groups of society. No group consists entirely of decent or indecent people. In this sense, no group is of "pure race"..." -- Viktor E. From Frankl's distinctions, all of the intrusive and/or presumptuous classifications -- red, white, yellow and black...gay, straight, bisexual and asexual...Catholic, Protestant, Muslim and Hindu...tall, short, fat and skinny -- used to catalogue man can be markedly minimized. Because all humans, despite the various groups to which they have been assigned, invariably will fall on one side or the other of this fundamental divide of decent and indecent.

A civilized man and a savage diverge not by their style of dress, type of dwelling, choice of food, nor number of possessions; rather a civilized man and a savage diverge in the way they treat another human being, despite the group, that human being has been assigned.

Holocaust: The Overlooked Evil.

Auschwitz has become the prevailing symbol of the evil perpetrated during the Holocaust, known as one of the darkest periods in history; yet 70% of the Jews murdered during the Holocaust were already dead by the time Auschwitz became fully operational. Not only that, Auschwitz was a labor camp as well as a death camp, and for every commonly known camp such as Auschwitz, Dachau, Buchenwald, etc. there were literally thousands more the general public has never heard of. All together, there are more than 20,000 camps, of which many are solely death camps.

So, why then is Auschwitz the symbol?

This is largely a result of the large number of survivors, mostly Western European Jews, who could go on and tell their story after they were liberated. The greatest number of victims were the Eastern European Jews who, if they were "lucky" enough to survive, were locked behind the Iron Curtain, unable to tell their story.

National Geographic recently aired the special, Hitler's Hidden Holocaust , which reveals the little known part of history and the seldom heard horrific story of the specialized units called “Einsatzgruppen” (a German term, meaning "action-groups") who played a major role in the extermination of Jews (murdered more than 1.5 million Jews point blank) and set the stage for the Nazi death camps.

Before the idea of industrialized mass killing even entered the minds of the Nazis, the Einsatzgruppen, beginning in June of 1941, followed the German army as it advanced deep into Soviet territory and carried out "in your face" mass-murder operations by going directly to the home communities of Jews, and with the help of local civilians and police, dug death pits, gathered all the Jews up, thousands at a time, and killed them, point blank, one bullet at a time.


This, of course, presented a terrible logistics problem for the Nazis: bullets were expensive; it was too public; too personal, and it could get a little messy.

In the late summer of 1941 SS Reichsfuhrer Heinrich Himmler (pictured left standing with Hitler) visited Minsk to witness, per his request, one of the killing operations in progress. Never having seen a man killed before, Himmler freaked out, screaming, "Kill them quickly...kill them quickly!"

This horrifying experience resulted in Himmler ordering a more efficient mode of killing be developed. Thus, the gas chambers were born.

Because of these new revelations and discoveries, some experts say that Auschwitz is the wrong symbol of the Holocaust as it warps our understanding of what really happened. Auschwitz was only the tip of the iceberg.

Death camp to be rescued from decay

The gas chambers of Auschwitz are to be rescued from decay under a modernisation plan that has sparked controversy over how to preserve the infamous death camp. “We have to preserve rather than reconstruct,” Piotr Cywinski, the new head of the Auschwitz museum, said. “We must take this step if we want to be able to see these gas chambers in 20 years’ time.”

It is a macabre dilemma. Should one give new life to a Nazi camp that has become synonymous with evil? Or should one let the camp crumble gently? Should Auschwitz become an overgrown site for mourners or a tourist destination? The International Auschwitz Council meeting this week decided that it was possible to strike a balance. Auschwitz remains a museum as well as a crime scene and, as such, should be more accessible to those wanting to learn about the Holocaust.

“It is the oldest exhibition about the shoah [Holocaust] in the world,” Mr Cywinski said. “We really must change.”

This means building walls to prevent the ruins of gas chambers from sinking into the ground. The exhibition and the first gas chamber are housed in a cramped, red-brick complex originally built as a cavalry barrack. It is here that restoration work will be concentrated.

In the other part of the camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau, the crematoriums and gas chambers were blown up in the final days of the Second World War. There, the original prisoners’ huts still stand and are already being tactfully preserved.

Another priority is to ensure that locks of hair shaved from the scalps of inmates do not deteriorate. A new education centre is also to be constructed.

Much of the museum design dates back to 1955. At least one member of the International Auschwitz Council — which groups scholars, religious representatives and Holocaust survivors — emphasised that engineering companies of the highest calibre should be consulted before building the support walls for the gas chamber. Jonathan Webber, Professor of Jewish Studies at the University of Birmingham, said that there was a risk that the Auschwitz management could be accused of tampering with the gas chambers by Holocaust-deniers.

Holocaust-deniers have long claimed that the gas chambers in Auschwitz were either fake or were too small to have been able to kill huge numbers of victims. About 1.5 million people, most of them Jews, were slaughtered there. Far-right Holocaust-deniers base their claim on a discredited report by Fred Leuchter, an American.

So the Auschwitz restoration team has to be careful to avoid the impression that it is building replicas. “The camp has to be propped up without sacrificing any of its authenticity,” a source close to the council said.

The other fear, voiced by Jewish scholars, is that Auschwitz will lose the smell of death and become more of a museum than a graveyard. Noach Flug, the president of the Centre of Organisations of Holocaust Survivors in Israel, said: “Auschwitz is the original place where it happened. You must have the feeling as it was then — the smell and the look. It is important not to change.”

The most damning comment has come from the Foundation for the Benefit of Holocaust Victims: “Changing the memorial and making it less horrifying and more friendly, having more flowers, trees, parks and grass, is good maybe for an amusement park but not for a place that is important to teach us what happened.”

“This is not about beauty,” Mr Cywinksi said. “We have to think about the next generation and different ways of speaking to them.”
