"Buying the War"

Bill Moyer's documentary, Buying the War, investigates the Bush Administration's incestuous relationship with the mainstream news media and how and why the press agreed to market the Iraq war to Americans.

Bill Moyers pulls together the bits and pieces of interviews, statements of journalists, and footage of news commentators that many of us may have seen before along with new evidence pointing to the collaboration of the news media and the bush administration to bring this war about.

Dan Rather tells Moyers,

I don’t think there is any excuse for my performance and the performance of the press in general in the roll-up to the war. Overall … there’s no question that we didn’t do a good job.

Unfortunately, he is one of only a small number of journalists who have come forward or as Bill Moyers says,

"The press has yet to come to terms with its role in enabling the Bush Administration to go to war on false pretenses."
