Firefighters Plan to Expose Giuliani
A group of New York firefighters and families of 9/11 victims, opposed to Rudy Giuliani, are planning set up an official organization that will fund television advertisements designed to expose him as a fraud.
"TV made him a hero, and we'll use TV to take him down." -- Jim Riches, New York fire chief, whose son, also a firefighter, was killed in the Twin Towers' collapse.
Not only was Giuliani not a hero, but he may have contributed to the unnecessary deaths of firemen that day by failing to equip the FDNY with functioning, communication equipment.
*Why was nothing done to improve FDNY radio performance for seven years after a clear need was demonstrated in the 1993 World Trade Center attack?
*When new radios were finally ordered, why did the city block other companies besides Motorola from bidding on the contract?
* Once Motorola was given the contract, why did its cost jump from $1.4 million to $14 million?
*Why were these new radios never tested?
