US Media Empire: Tools and and Vassals of Rich Men Behind the Scenes

"There is no such thing, at this date of the world's history, in America, as an independent press. You know it and I know it. There is not one of you who dares to write you honest opinions, and if you did, you know before hand that it would never appear in print. I am paid weekly for keeping my honest opinion out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for similar things, and any of you who would be so foolish to write honest opinions would be out on the streets looking for another job. If I allowed my honest opinions to appear in one issue of my paper, before twenty-four hours my occupation would be gone. The business of the journalist is to destroy the truth; to lie outright; to pervert; to vilify; to fawn at the feet of mammon, and to sell his country and his race for his daily bread. You know it and I know it and what folly is this toasting and independent press! We are the tools and vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are the jumping jacks, they pull the strings and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities and our lives are all the property of other men. We are intelligent prostitutes." -- John Swinton, former Chief of Staff of the New York Times in 1953
In 1917, Rep. Oscar Calloway, in the U.S. Congressional Record, revealed why J.P. Morgan hired 12 high-ranking news managers. Calloway said the reason was, "to determine the most influential newspapers in America. Why? To figure out how many newspapers it would take to "control generally the policy of the daily press of the United States." The twelve found that it was only necessary "to purchase the control of 25 of the greatest papers".

"An agreement was reached; the policy of the papers was bought, and an editor was placed at each paper to insure that all published information was in keeping with the new policy."

J.P. Morgan and his colleagues formed the highly exclusive Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) as a front group. Together, they formed the policy that the 25 newspapers would follow.

In the early 1960s, Dr. Carroll Quigley, a Georgetown professor, gained access to all of the confidential files and secret networks of the powerful men who founded the CFR. He concluded that the objective was to, "create a world system of financial control, in private hands, able to dominate the political systemm of each country, and the economy of the world as a whole."
"The Council of Foreign Relations is the American Branch of a society which originated in England and believes national boundaries should be obliterated and one-world rule established." - Dr. Carroll Quigley, Professor of History at Georgetown University
The CFR is the most visible conduit to carrying out that agenda. CFR members include past Presidents, Ambassadors, Secretaries of State, Wall Street investors, international bankers, foundation executives, think tank executives, lobbyist lawyers, NATO and Pentagon military leaders, wealthy industrialists, journalists, media owners and executives, university presidents and key professors, select Congressmen, Supreme Court Justices, Federal Judges, wealthy entrepreneurs, and as many as ten 9-11 Commission Members.

Richard Harwood, author of "Ruling Class Journalists" says the CFR is the ruling establishment in the U.S., and he said, that the media heavyweights (all CFR members) "do not merely analyze and interpret foreign policy for the United States; they help make it."

Quotes from CFR members:

"The goal of the Council of Foreign Relation is submergence of the U.S. sovereignty and national independence into an all powerful ONE-WORLD government and equally important is the C.F.R influence in our mass media. They control or own most major newspapers, magazines, radio and television networks." -- Admiral Chester Ward

"The most powerful clique in these elitist groups have one objective in common - they want to bring about the surrender of the sovereignty of the national independence of the United States. A second clique of international members in the CFR comprises the Wall Street international bankers and their key agents. Primarily, they want the world banking monopoly from whatever power ends up in the control of global government." -- -- Admiral Chester Ward
"The ultimate aim of the CFR is to create a one-world socialist system and make the U.S. an official part of it." -- Dan Smoot, a former member of the FBI Headquarters staff in Washington, D.C.
"The technetronic era involves the gradual appearance of a more controlled society. Such a society would be dominated by an elite, unrestrained by traditional values." -- CFR member Zbigniew Breninski (National Security Advisor to President Carter)
"The Rockefeller's are the epitome of the nations permanent establishment: Governments change, economics fluctuate, foreign alliances shift - The Rockefeller's prevail." -- Walter Conkrite
"The CFR dedicated to one-world government, financed by a number of the largest tax-exempt foundations, and wielding such power and influence over our lives in the areas of finance, business, labor, military, education and mass communication media should be familiar to every American concerned with good government and with preserving and defending the U.S. Constitution and our free enterprise system. Yet, the nation's right-to-know machinery, and the news media, usually so aggressive in exposures to inform our people, remain conspicuously silent when it comes to the CFR, its members and their activities. The CFR is the establishment. Not only does it have influence and power in key decision making positions at the highest levels of government to apply pressure from above, but it also finances and uses individuals and groups to bring pressure from below, to justify the high level decisions for converting the U.S. from a sovereign Constitutional Republic into a servile member of a one-world dictatorship." -- Congressman John Rarick
"The Secret Team is a group of men who can orchestrate the activities of the United States government. They are from industry, big business, the military, big banks and big lawyers . . . They manipulate the government policy." -- Col. Fletcher Prouty, Liaison Officer between the Pentagon and the CIA
"Our job is to give people not what they want, but what WE decide they ought to have." -- Richard Cohan, former President of CBS News
"For those who guide this people are leading them astray;
And those who are guided by them are brought to confusion . . .
and by their smooth flattering speech
they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting."
(Isaiah 9:16; Romans 16:18)
