Demographic Warfare: Weaponizing Immigration

At the end of 2014, the number of people, worldwide, forced to flee their homes rose to a staggering 59.5 million compared to 51.2 million a year earlier and 37.5 million a decade ago. displaced from their homes.
The increase represents the biggest leap ever seen in a single year. Moreover, the report said the situation was likely to worsen still further.

Globally, one in every 122 humans is now either a refugee, internally displaced, or seeking asylum. If this were the population of a country, it would be the world's 24th biggest.

Most of us believe that immigration occurs naturally, that the hordes of immigrants we see today, fleeing unbearable circumstances is the direct result of unfortunate circumstances that haphazardly plague nations around the world.  We conveniently forget the centuries of ravishing and plundering of  these unfortunate nations--rich in natural resources and brimming with economic potential--by colonizing and neo-colonizing powers.

Australian treatment of refugees
No, not too many of us consider the possibility that the natural flow of immigration has been co-opted by global elites who deliberately create the abominable conditions that force desperate millions (pawns) to cut and run.  Yet despite our nation's wealth created through the plundering of these war-torn nations,  we allow the corporate owned mass media foster and fan the flames of racism and anti-immigrant sentiment without question.

Biometric Database of All Americans Buried in 800 Pages of Immigration Reform

Republicans and Democrats may not agree on much, but they certainly do agree on ever-increasing government intrusion and power.  One of the big problem with all the so-called "security” legislation created since 9/11 is that it, unquestionably, will be used against American citizens who stand up to power. That's already happening.

Our Orwellian government already tracks and monitors everything we do, but apparently the political class is not satisfied. Hidden in the 800 pages of immigration reform " is a mandate for the creation of a national biometric database of virtually every American (take notice that the question of fining the corporations for employing illegal immigrants never comes up, because corporations thrive on cheap labor and our government is all about keeping corporations profitable as possible).

"The immigration reform measure the Senate began debating yesterday would create a national biometric database of virtually every adult in the U.S., in what privacy groups fear could be the first step to a ubiquitous national identification system.

Buried in the more than 800 pages of the bipartisan legislation (.pdf) is language mandating the creation of the innocuously-named “photo tool,” a massive federal database administered by the Department of Homeland Security and containing names, ages, Social Security numbers and photographs of everyone in the country with a driver’s license or other state-issued photo ID.

Employers would be obliged to look up every new hire in the database to verify that they match their photo.

This piece of the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act is aimed at curbing employment of undocumented immigrants. But privacy advocates fear the inevitable mission creep, ending with the proof of self being required at polling places, to rent a house, buy a gun, open a bank account, acquire credit, board a plane or even attend a sporting event or log on the internet. Think of it as a government version of Foursquare, with Big Brother cataloging every check-in.

“It starts to change the relationship between the citizen and state, you do have to get permission to do things,” said Chris Calabrese, a congressional lobbyist with the American Civil Liberties Union. “More fundamentally, it could be the start of keeping a record of all things.”

For now, the legislation allows the database to be used solely for employment purposes. But historically such limitations don’t last. The Social Security card, for example, was created to track your government retirement benefits. Now you need it to purchase health insurance.

“The Social Security number itself, it’s pretty ubiquitous in your life,” Calabrese said.

David Bier, an analyst with the Competitive Enterprise Institute, agrees with the ACLU’s fears.

“The most worrying aspect is that this creates a principle of permission basically to do certain activities and it can be used to restrict activities,” he said. “It’s like a national ID system without the card.”

For the moment, the debate in the Senate Judiciary Committee is focused on the parameters of legalization for unauthorized immigrants, a border fence and legal immigration in the future.

Myth of Overpopulation, Demographic Decline and Agenda 21

For years, we have been warned about the looming danger of overpopulation: billions of people scrambling for space on a planet that’s running out of oil, food, land, water, etc. Guess what? It's all a big lie. The staggering truth is that people are having too few children, gradually slowing population growth. That's right. The world’s population will peak at about 9-10 billion in the next 50 years, and then begin shrinking.

John Lennon: "I think it's a bit of a joke the way people have made this overpopulation myth. I don't really believe it, you know, I think whatever happens will balance itself out...I think we've got enough food and money to feed everybody. There is a natural balance. I think there is enough room for us. I don't believe in overpopulation. I think it's kind of a myth that's thrown out to keep your mind off Vietnam and Ireland, and all the important subjects."

Dick Cavett: "I think you're wrong."

John Lennon: "Oh, I don't care."
According to the Economist, since 2007, thanks to the weak economy Americans are having fewer babies than even the French and the British, not enough to maintain the size of the US population without immigration. The US birthrate right now is 1.9 births per woman when 2.1 births per woman is necessary to sustain the population on its own.  It's only because of immigration that the birthrate is still growing.  Furthermore, according to Pew Research, in the 18-34 year old demographic, one in four adults have returned to live with their parents since the economic downturn.

Not too long ago, children were desirable simply because the more you had, the more you had to work the family farm therefore, each child had a positive economic value. Today, each child is financial burden. The cost of raising a child from birth to age 17 is $300,00 according to the Department of Agriculture, $1.1 million to raise a child if you're a middle-class couple.
In 1970, the global average was 6.5 children per woman. Today it’s 2.5. The replacement rate, that is the average number of children the average woman needs to have in order to keep the population constant, is 2.1. As a result, he said, 97 percent of the world's population is in countries where fertility rates are in the negative numbers, and as a result, a “demographic disaster” is looming." -- Jonathan Last, author of “What To Expect When No One’s Expecting: America’s Coming Demographic Disaster
As college costs and student loan debt soar--college tuition has increased 1000% since 1965--and unemployment rises, college graduates, crushed by student loan debt, are deciding not to have kids. In recent years, student loan debt has skyrocketed from $100 billion to nearly $1 trillion, creating another potential debt bubble burst for the American economy.

So what is Agenda 21 (Sustainable Development, including: Smart Growth, the Grand Boulevard Initiative, Climate Action Plans, Carbon Taxes, Cap-and-Trade, etc) and what does it have to do with overpopulation and demographics? It is the United Nation's vision for a centrally managed global society under the noble banner of saving the earth. Buried in the pages of this proposal are measures that can be taken to insure a world with less human resource depletion and "sustainable development" of which the key element is population control which basically promotes a culture of death, not only at the beginning of life, but towards the end as well.  What with euthanasia and the push for the legalization of physician-assisted suicide taking place in at least three states: Connecticut, New Jersey and Vermont...hey, it's a great way to take care of the aging population now that the baby boomers are reaching their twilight years.
Effective execution of Agenda 21 will require a profound reorientation of all human society, unlike anything the world has ever experienced a major shift in the priorities of both governments and individuals and an unprecedented redeployment of human and financial resources. This shift will demand that a concern for the environmental consequences of every human action be integrated into individual and collective decision-making at every level."
- excerpt, UN Agenda 21
Under the guise of protecting the environment, "sustainable development" has become the rage in land use planning, zoning, and in virtually every other facet of daily life. The scary part is that it's taking hold in local communities all across America in the form of "stakeholder" councils to advance Agenda 21 to transform cities and towns into "sustainable communities." The primary tool used to spread this agenda is the "consensus process," which is used to gain the appearance of public support. This process is designed to take the public policy-making function away from elected officials and replace it with councils of non-elected officials, while giving the appearance of broad public input into the decision-making process.

Codex Alimentarius (Latin for "food code")--now enforceable through the World Trade Organization (WTO)--is inextricably linked to Agenda 21. It is a set of regulations that aim to outlaw health information and supplements, limiting access to natural therapies on a worldwide scale--basically anything that doesn't profit Big Pharma. Behind the Codex Alimentarius Commission is the United Nations and the World Health Organization working in conjunction with the multinational pharmaceutical cartel and international banks.
The Codex Alimentarius Commission was established under heavy influence of the pharmaceutical industry in 1963 following resolutions passed at the Eleventh Session of the Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 1961, and at the Sixteenth World Health Assembly in 1963. (More on the history of codex here) From its very beginning CAC's clear intention was to protect corporate interests in the global pharmaceutical and food markets.
The bottom line is that despite the doomsday predictions of Malthus and his Malthusian theory being proven a colossal failure, his ideas are still being taken seriously and still being hyped and promoted by the elite multinational powerbrokers, financiers and billionaires who run our country behind the scenes, and who benefit from the idea that there are too many useless eaters using up the world’s resources.  In other words, the clear message   is "the real enemy then is humanity itself."
Malthus indicates another kind of apologetic use for the population principle. If an existing social order, an elite group of some sort, is under threat and is fighting to preserve its dominant position in society, then the overpopulation and shortage of resources arguments can be used as powerful ideological levers to persuade people into acceptance of the status quo and of authoritarian measures to maintain it. The English landed interest used Malthus’ arguments thus in the early nineteenth century.

And this kind of argument is, of course, even more effective if the elite group is in a position to create a scarcity to demonstrate the point.

Why Major Newspapers and Corporations Run Fake Job Ads To Undercut American Workers.

Every Sunday, major newspapers, websites and corporations run fake job ads. Why? The goal is to prove that no qualified Americans are available, so that green cards can be secured for H1B workers ("highly-skilled" foreign workers from "high tech" to architects to nurses and Kindergarten teachers).

The claim is H-1B is a remedy for "labor shortages" and as a means of hiring "the best and the brightest" from around the world. The reality is it's all about cheap labor.

The fundamental reason for the H1B Visa program, created in 1990, is to substitute cheap, imported, supposedly "skilled" (equivalent to American high school degree)  labor for more expensive American labor. The employer, who reaps a ton of tax advantages, doesn't have to pay medical benefits, overtime, social security, etc., can also force the departing US worker to train their foreign replacement.  The problem is not lack of enforcement or fraud. Instead, the problem is gaping loopholes in the law.

Congress has allowed the expansion of importation under all VISA programs. 125,000 work authorized visas per month. This includes green cards, L-1, H1-b, H2-b etc  and the state hands out about 320K J-1 student work visas yearly.

Body Shops:

According to Civil Defense Attorney James Otto, who poses the question: “Whether the U.S. should allow the replacement of U.S. workers with foreigners imported under the several visa programs and should Government hire foreigners in stead of U.S workers?”, there are eight main body shops which bring in foreign workers to take American jobs. One body shop, Infosys, faces a lawsuit by former employee Jack Palmer over charges that it abused US visa programs. Per the Economic Times of India "The Infosys charges illustrate the growing conflict between the desires of multinational corporations to source cheaply (even if “cheap” has been mismeasured by not not being adjusted for risk) and what actions need to take place at a country level to make sure these very same multinationals have decent market for their goods."
On December 7, 2011, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, through the U.S. Embassy in India, announced that the State Department has authorized the U.S embassy to allow the admission of a limitless number of foreign workers into the U.S. to take jobs that millions of unemployed Americans could and would do.

The practical implications of the State Department’s conduct is that every U.S employer can now hire as many foreign workers as they desire to replace all American workers. Then, the U.S. taxpayer must pay more taxes to care for the unemployed and their children.
So even jobs that require face to face work are not safe from "outsourcing" because of "importing".

Of course, this is no more the fault of the imported foreign nationals than it is the fault of the workers employed in sweatshops overseas.  The corporations treat them horrendously.  While displacing American workers, the goal is to reduce the salary level to a point where they can get qualified professional American workers at the same cheap price. Just one more government policy that result in We the People suffering in order that corporate profits soar.

Immigration attorneys teach corporations how to  avoid hiring qualified Americans.

The Civics Paradox

Immigration has long been a matter of concern to US citizens, however, recently, between rising level of illegal immigrants, state of our economy, and issues of national security, this topic has taken on an intensity that rivals that of previous times.

The United States is one of few countries in the world that grants birthright citizenship - citizenship based on where a person is born.  Many in their crusade against immigration, have zeroed in on restricting this "birthright", especially However, so it's no surprise that Dan Burton (R-IL) introduced H.R. 5002, The No Sanctuary for Illegals Act which would limit birthright citizenship to three conditions, illegal immigrant parents not being one of them.
They are called "anchor babies" -- the children born in the United Citizenship States of illegal immigrant parents -- and pressure is growing to change the meaning of the *14th Amendment so as to deny them automatic citizenship.
At the same time, we're raising the bar on immigration; American citizens are more ignorant than ever.  Barely 1/3 of all Americans can name the three branches of American government, much less tell you how each branch works, 2/3 of all Americans can't pass the citizenship test and less than half the states require courses in civics/government to graduate high school. When No Child Left Behind was implemented due to America's bottom of the barrel test scores in math and science amongst developed countries, many more school boards across the country cut civics/government out completely.  Which raises the question, if American citizens, increasingly, don't have a clue, and it's becoming tougher for immigrants to become citizens, where does that leave us?

Of course, you can be certain that GOP politics is a key factor behind the focus on immigration. "Wedge issue" strategy -  essentially exploiting specific hostilities to mobilize their base - is many times the Republican central plan for achieving their agenda. And the more ignorant Americans are, the easier it is to skew public understanding and feed them misinformation.

The frightening aspect, in an atmosphere of public ignorance and apathy, is that liars go unchecked; glitzy superficial, sensationalized 24/7 news streams replace real journalism; truth is replaced with propaganda; and ultimately, the unenlightened masses ring the death knell of democracy.

So,  is the decline of civic learning in American schools a coincidence or a conspiracy, or a combination of the two?  Is it reasonable to deduct that if the outcome benefits a certain group of people, that that outcome was planned, or is it more complicated?

* The 14th Amendment to the Constitution affirms that all persons born in the U.S. are citizens, regardless of the immigration status of their parents. Following the Civil War and the emancipation of the slaves, the 14th Amendment restated the longstanding principle of birthright citizenship. This right was temporarily erased by the Supreme Court's "Dred Scott" (1857) decision that denied birthright citizenship to American born children of slaves, essentially overruled by the 14th amendment in 1868.

The Melting Pot: Corporations and Exploitable Immigrants

Above the Yard: Park Ave and 107th Ave circa 1900

Former President John F. Kennedy argued that “every American who ever lived, with the exception of one group, [Native Americans] was either an immigrant himself or a descendant of immigrants”.
Generation after generation, immigrants have and continue to work the hardest, for the longest hours, for the lowest pay, in jobs that already established Americans do not want. Yet, we are to this day, most inhospitable to our newest arrivals. Anti-immigrant sentiment flourishes as it did at the end of the 19th century.

In 1896, New York City, on the cusp of a new century, was the most highly urbanized and industrialized part of the US. However, despite this fact,  especially on New York's  Lower East Side,  immigrants and low paid factory workers lived in  mostly pre-industrial conditions.

With a population of 3.5 million, and as many as 100,000 people in each precinct, the poorest city dwellers lived in tenements (pictured above)  where at least 5-6 people were crammed into each room.  Most tenements had common spigot outside; their only source of running water. A few more modern buildings provided a filthy sink in the middle of a hallway that was shared by scores of people. Outdoor latrines were still common. Access to air and sunlight was very limited.

On August 4, 1896, a 10-day heat wave scorched these over-crowded buildings converting them into brick ovens, where temperatures reached as high as 120 degrees inside. Nearly 1,500 people died as a result.

At the time, there was no electric refrigeration, so ice became a precious lifesaving commodity during heat waves in the city.  Poor people could not afford the tin and zinc-lined boxes required to store food and ice, therefore, the price of ice could determine life or death.

By 1896, ice magnet, Charles "the Ice King" Morse (left: man pictured in the center), traveled to NYC from Maine where he consolidated three-quarters of the independent ice companies into an ice trust. Long before the summer, word got out, and poor city dwellers were worried he was going to jack up the price of ice, making it a luxury they could not afford, and that's exactly what happened.

Theodore Roosevelt was the only person to intervene on behalf of the overheating poor. He championed the idea of giving away free ice to the poorest people and personally supervised the distribution of ice.   Afterwards, he even toured the back alleys of the worst sections of the Lower East Side to observe how the ice was used.

While it's true that immigration is a very complex issue, not easily solved, there are some things that are very solvable because we know some things such as: Corporations almost always choose profit over life.  Corporations almost always exploit immigrants and the poor. Politicians love to use the issue of immigration as a wedge issue because Americans fear and many times loathe immigrants despite the friendly image as the world's "melting pot".

Scaring White People for Fun and Profit

Rachel Maddow claims  the right-winged "professional hysteria mongers," in what she calls "anti-immigrant-scare-white-people-politics" that scares "white people for fun and profit", is not only politically expedient, it’s also increasingly easy to do."

Tea Party Nation created a new online forum where they are asking tea partiers to post stories about undocumented immigrants. In an email sent to supporters, they say:

“If [sic] have been the victim of a crime by an illegal, or if your business has gone under because your competition uses illegals, or if you have lost your job to illegals, we want to know about it… We need to get the true story out about illegal immigration and we need your help to do it.”
In addition they included, "if anyone sees undocumented immigrants acting out, like burning an American flag or hanging a Mexican flag above an American one, they also would like photos, but “acts of decency by people without papers are disqualified from this forum,” Maddow says.

Obama Grants Illegal Haitians Temporary Protected Status

Earlier this week, in response to the devastation from the Haiti earthquake, the Obama administration temporarily suspended deportations of illegal immigrants from that country.

The temporary legal status is an act of compassion....Temporary protected status is granted to foreigners who may not be able to return safely to their country because of a natural disaster, armed conflict or other reasons. -- Homeland Security Director Janet Napolitano
Now, President Obama has extended a special immigration status to Haitians living illegally in the U.S. This ruling protects them from deportation for 18 months and allows them to work here. This is only available to Haitians already in the country as January 12, 2010. This temporary protection status could affect 100,000 to 200,000 Haitians in the U.S. as well as about 30,000 Haitians who had been ordered deported.
The administration’s decision followed a rising chorus of calls for the temporary status after the earthquake on Tuesday. On Friday, 80 representatives and 18 senators, including Democrats and Republicans, sent appeals to the administration to grant the status, as did the conference of Roman Catholic bishops.
However, this is not the first request for temporary protected status. The Haitian government and advocates in the U.S. have been asking Washington to grant this status, since late 2008, after a series of natural disasters, starting with floods in 2004 that left more than 5,000 people dead or missing to four big storms that killed at least 800 people and destroyed most of Haiti’s food crops in 2008.

The Bush administration decided against granting Haitians the temporary status in December 2008, and the Obama administration, in March 2009, continued deporting Haitians.
