Since Time Immemorial: The Hallowed Symbol of the Cross

Throughout the world, people universally regard the Cross as the symbol of Christianity as the symbol recalls the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ and the redeeming benefits of his Passion, death and Resurrection. It is thus a sign both of Christ himself and of the faith of Christians.

However, what is not very well-known is that the reverence shown to the sign of the Cross occurred in all of the ages prior to Christianity, and still is revered in almost every land where that of Calvary is unrecognized and unknown. Yet, throughout modern times, anyway, official "history has been [mostly] silent on this subject" of this universal symbol. The obvious reason for the silence, in my humble opinion, is that this pre-Christian and pagan reverence for the Cross foreshadows the coming of Christ and  testifies to the presence of Him throughout the history of all mankind, as it proves that all human beings are innately predisposed to revere the Cross, and this knowledge might encourage or solidify belief in the very thing that the worldly powers are attempting to eliminate: Jesus Christ.

From an article in the Edinburgh Review, July 1870:

“From the dawn of organized Paganism in the Eastern world, to the final establishment of Christianity in the West, the cross was undoubtedly one of the commonest and most sacred of symbolical monuments; and to a remarkable extent it is so still in almost every land where that of Calvary is unrecognized and unknown. Apart from any distinctions of social or intellectual superiority, of caste, color, nationality, or location in either hemisphere, it appears to have been the aboriginal possession of every people in antiquity—the elastic girdle, so to say, which widely separated heathen communities—the most significant token of universal brotherhood, to which all families of mankind were severally and irresistibly drawn, and by which their common descent was emphatically expressed, or by means of which each and all preserved, amid every vicissitude of fortune, a knowledge of the primeval happiness and dignity of their species. Where authentic history is silent on the subject, the material relics of the past and long since forgotten races are not wanting to confirm and strengthen this supposition. “Diversified forms of the symbol are delineated more or less artistically, according to the progress achieved in civilization at the period, on the ruined walls of temples and palaces, on natural rocks and sepulchral galleries, on the hoariest monoliths and the rudest statuary; on coins, medals, and vases of every description; and in not a few instances, are preserved in the architectural proportions of subterranean as well as superterranean structures of tumuli, as well as fanes. The extraordinary sanctity attaching to the symbol in every age and under every variety of circumstance justified any expenditure incurred in its fabrication or embellishment; hence the most persistent labor, the most consummate ingenuity, were lavished upon it. Populations of essentially different culture, tastes, and pursuits—the highly-civilized and the semi-civilized, the settled and the nomadic—vied with each other in their superstitious adoration of it, and in their efforts to extend the knowledge of its exceptional import and virtue amongst their latest posterities. The marvelous rock-hewn caves of Elephanta and Ellora, and the stately temples of Mathura and Terputty, in the East, may be cited as characteristic examples of one laborious labor of exhibiting it; and the megalithic structures of Callernish and Newgrange, in the West, of another; while a third may be instanced in the great temple of Mitzla, the ‘City of the Moon’, in Ojaaca, Central America, also excavated in the living rock, and manifesting the same stupendous labor and ingenuity as are observable in the cognate caverns of Salsette—of endeavors, we repeat made by peoples as intellectually as geographically distinct, and followers withal of independent and unassociated deities, to magnify and perpetuate some grand primeval symbol…
Of the several varieties of the Cross still in vogue, as national and ecclesiastical emblems, in this and other European states, and distinguished by the familiar appellations of St. George, St. Andrew, the Maltese, the Greek, the Latin, etc. etc., there is not one amongst them, the existence of which may not be traced to the remotest antiquity. They were the common property of the Eastern nations. No revolution or other causality has wrought any perceptible difference in their several forms or delineations; they have passed from one hemisphere to the other intact; have survived dynasties, empires and races; have been borne on the crest of each successive wave of Aryan population in its course toward the West; and having been re-consecrated in later times by their lineal descendants, are still recognized as military and national badges of distinction…

Among the earliest known types is the crux ansata, vulgarly called ‘the key of the Nile’, because of its being found sculptured or otherwise represented so frequently upon Egyptian and Coptic monuments. It has, however, a very much older and more sacred significance than this. It was the symbol of symbols, the mystical Tau, ‘the hidden wisdom,’ not only of the ancient Egyptians but also of the Chaldeans, Phoenicians, Mexicans, Peruvians and of every other ancient people commemorated in history, in either hemisphere, and is formed very similarly to our letter T, with a roundlet, or oval placed immediately above it. Thus, it was figured on the gigantic emerald or glass statue of Serapis, which was transported (293 B.C.) by order of Ptolemy Soter from Sinope on the southern shores of the Black Sea, re-erected within that famous labyrinth which encompassed the banks of Lake Moeris, and destroyed them by the victorious army of Theodosius (A.D. 389) despite the earnest entreaties of the Egyptian priesthood to spare it, because it was the emblem of their god and ‘the life to come….

That each known variety has been derived from a common source and is emblematical of one and the same truth may be inferred from the fact of forms identically the same, whether simple or complex, cropping out in contrary directions, in the Western as well as the Eastern hemisphere.”

Nevertheless, as the recent Zeitgeist film portrays the biblical accounts of Jesus as plagiarizing the story of Horus, Krishna, Mithras, Dionysis and other pagan Gods, without any historical evidence whatsoever as these gods never existed, there are those who interpret the pre-Christian and pagan reverence of the  religious symbol throughout history up until today as proof that the Cross--because it was used and is used by non-believers/non-Christians-- is essentially meaningless despite Jesus' cammoand to "Take up your cross and follow me." Some even go as far as to interpret the cross as a symbol from the devil.

“Satan the devil knew long before Jesus was born that He would die by crucifixion (Numbers 21:4-9; John 3:14; Psalm 22:16). In an attempt to deceive the world and lead people into worshipping a false Christ, the Devil made the cross a popular symbol of worship.

Well, the fact of the matter is that demons hate the Crucifix. There is a reason it is used in exorcisms, and there is a reason, those who worship Satan try to reverse the Catholic mass, defile the Eucharist and mock the Cross. If the Cross was essentially meaningless or powerless, those who hate God wouldn't bother.  Satan's, the great counterfeiter, only power  is his persuasive ability to separate us from God through his genius ability to be whatever you want him to be, until he has hardened your heart to the point of what he believes is no turning back, only he's wrong: as long as you have breath in your body there is turning back thanks to God's great mercy.

Anyway, the Zeitgeist creators, and other Bible skeptics, benefit from the appeal to skeptic fallacy: I doubt therefore I am [superior]. Declaring Myself As A Skeptic Defaults Me Unearned and Unassailable Credibility without me having to lift a finger, or the belief that skeptics are exempt from having to provide authoritative outsider recitation or evidence to support a contended claim or counter-claim, as if skeptics are free of any kind of agenda but to find truth with no burden of proof placed on them.

In reality, no other figure, religious or otherwise, has received even close to the scrutiny that Jesus did and does, not to mention, the New Testament, which has been verified by manuscript evidence to be the most reliable and substantiated document in antiquity.  This alone should be enough to listen to Jesus when He says, "Take up your cross and follow me."

The Black Awakening: Rise of the Satanic Super Soldiers and the Coming Chaos

After 28-years of research and hands on experience wrestling with the demons of ritual abuse victims plagued with intentionally created  Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD), Russ Dizdar  learned a lot about the incredible power of dissociative states.  Moreover,  from the multiples, themselves, he learned that a very sinister agenda behind the creation of these multiples, which led to his book: The Black Awakening: Rise of the Satanic Super Soldiers and the Coming Chaos.

What is The Black Awakening?  It is a day when the aforementioned victims, who Dizdar refers to as the "chosen ones",  will be unleashed on society on society to create hell on earth.  Sound like a horror movie?  It's not. It's a real possibility, and based on a very old strategy of inducing revolution - helter-skelter - to wipe away the old and bring in the new. Order out of chaos.

According to Dizdar, these sleeper assassins/anarchists have already infiltrated law enforcement, the military, the FBI, and first responder organizations, and when the time is right, they will be triggered.

What will they do? Well, already pre-programmed, they will target pastors, senators, military, and a whole host of people. They will shoot, kill, explode, shut down electrical grids, poison water, etc. Why? To collapse the US internally in order to create order out of chaos.

As farfetched as this may sound, there is plenty of evidence that this "Manchurian Candidate" type scenario is, indeed, very possible. Mr. Dizdar is not the first person to author a book on this subject.  Not only that, the CIA's mind control projects, still going on today, are public knowledge, now that the government has  declassified some of the documents that detail the workings of these projects.  In fact, many of the guardians of orthodox psychiatry were often themselves witting participants in MK/ULTRA.

Project Bluebird  was the CIA's first behavior modification program, initiated in 1949, overtaken by Project Artichoke in 1950 and then morphed into the massive Project MKULTRA in 1953.  These projects utilized the expertise of Nazi scientists brought over and released after WWII in the CIA created, Operation Paperclip.

After World War II, thousands of Nazi scientists, researchers and administrators were "smuggled" into the United States against direct written orders from President Harry S. Truman, through Operation Sunrise, Operation Blowback, Operation Paperclip and other covert ops.

Project Monarch appears to be the CIA undertaking most closely associated with MPD. It was originally called Marionette Programming prior to being imported from Nazi Germany. Through extreme trauma, conditioning, hypnosis, and chemicals, scientists came up with a sophisticated way to manipulate the mind to induce MPD, or Disassociative Disorder.

G.H. Estabrooks, a renowned psychiatrist and head of the American Psychological Association, in the 1940s, who was brought in by the CIA.  He was/ is the only mind-control doctor who has publicly acknowledged the building of "Manchurian Candidates". In his book Spiritism, Dr. Estabrooks describes experiments done to create multiple personality, and in his book Hypnotism, Dr. Estabrooks discusses the training of these sub-personalites in reconnaissance, assassination, and disinformation. He also states that the creation of experimental multiple personality for operational use in military subjects, whom he refers to as super spies, is ethical because of the demands of war.

“By the 1920’s not only had they [clinical hypnotists] learned to apply posthypnotic suggestion to deal with this weird problem [multiple personality], but also had learned how to split certain complex individuals into multiple personalities like Jeckyl-Hydes.…During World War II, I worked this technique with a vulnerable Marine lieutenant I’ll call Jones.…I split his personality into Jones A and Jones B. Jones A, once a ‘normal’ working Marine, became entirely different. He talked communist doctrine and meant it. He was welcomed enthusiastically by communist cells, and was deliberately given a dishonorable discharge by the Corps (which was in on the plot) and became a card-carrying party member.…Jones B was the deeper personality, knew all the thoughts of Jones A, was a loyal American and was ‘imprinted’ to say nothing during conscious phases. All I had to do was hypnotize the whole man, get in touch with Jones B, the loyal American, and I had a pipeline straight into the Communist camp. It worked beautifully.” G.H. Estabrooksn in a 1971 article in Science Digest

Dr. Estabrooks also did experiments on children. Four MKULTRA subprojects were on children. The deliberate creation of multiple personality in children is an explicitly stated plan in the MKULTRA Subproject Proposal submitted for funding on May 30, 1961.


As hard as this "horror movie" scenario is to believe, there is enough evidence to, at the very least, consider it as feasible. Public awareness, and/or the exposure is the only way to prevent or, at least, postpone the playing out of this Hegelian Dialectic.

Isn't the Devil's Cleverest Trick Convincing People He Doesn't Exist?

Andrew Delbanco, author of The Death of Satan: How Americans Lost the Sense of Evil, defines evil as "the absence of the imaginative sympathy for other human beings, or the the inability to see your victims as human beings. To think of them as instruments or cogs or elements or statistics but not as human beings."

Yet, as the 8th anniversary of 9/11 passes, and we emerge from the most brutal century in human history, ironically, our sense of evil is at an all time low. Religion's grip on society in general, has loosened over the last few centuries, and consequently, so has our certainty of the existence of evil. Many even assert that religion is "the evil". However, if that is true, and religion is evil, why do we have more blood on our hands, the further we stray from religion, and the idea of evil? After all, isn't the devil's cleverest trick convincing people that he does not exist?

In the midst of chaos - corruption, greed, ongoing wars, crimes against humanity, famine, global warming, and in general, the tremendous suffering of innocents around the world - all within the context of a variety of cultures, religions and governments, is it any wonder we find it difficult to conceptualize evil? To sort it all out is overwhelming because it seems as if everything is evil, and if that's the case, than nothing is evil. So, it's easier to think of evil as an abstraction far beyond our comprehension, that may or may not exist, because to acknowledge the existence of evil, means we should do something about it.

Organized religion is certainly not a panacea, nevertheless, it often provides the framework for how we think about good and evil; for good or for evil. Be that as it may, if we are not accountable to something above ourselves, therefore, making ourselves "gods" and granting ourselves the right to freely choose whatever course of action that feels good or does us good, justifying it within the confines of our own "conscience", we are creating the fertile ground evil needs to flourish.

So, why isn't justifying our decisions within our own conscience good enough to stop evil from flourishing?

Because people define "truth" for themselves and will rationalize away anything that doesn't support that "truth".

Because in almost all cases, people act in ways that they can justify as right, as good; rarely, do human beings act with conscious evil intent.

Because people do not understand the power that their own, often narrow frame of reference has in skewing his or her judgment. They don't understand that much of what we perceive is an illusion.

Because reality is not as important as perception? In other words, what is true is not as important as what people believe to be true.

Charles Kimball, in “When Religion Becomes Evil” posts five warning signs of the human corruption of religion. "When one finds one or more of these dynamics at work, history suggests that serious trouble lurks just ahead.”

These are Kimball’s five warning signs:

1. Making absolute truth claims – “While truth claims are the essential ingredients of religion, they are also the points at which divergent interpretations arise. When particular understandings become rigidly fixed and uncritically appropriated as absolute truths, well-meaning people can and often do paint themselves into a corner from which they must assume a defensive or even offensive posture.” (p. 46) "Rigid truth claims,particularly in times of conflict, are the basis for demonizing and dehumanizing those who differ.” (p. 51-52)

2. Demanding blind obedience – “Religion that requires adherents to disconnect their brain is often a big part of the problem.” (p. 29) “Authentic religion engages the intellect as people wrestle with the mystery of existence and the challenges of living in an imperfect world. Conversely, blind obedience is a sure sign of corrupt religion... When individual believers abdicate personal responsibility and yield to the authority of a charismatic leader or become enslaved to particular ideas or teachings, religion can easily become the framework for violence and destruction.” (p. 72) “The likelihood of religion becoming evil is greatly diminished when there is freedom for individual thinking and when honest inquiry is encouraged.” (p. 99)

3. Establishing an “ideal” time – “Those who narrowly define ideal temporal structures of the state and determine they are God’s agents to establish a theocracy are dangerous. Beware of people and groups whose political blueprint is based on a mandate from heaven that depends on human beings to implement.” (p. 125)

4. Letting the end justify any means – “Concern for the well-being of one’s religious community is normal. This positive impulse can turn violently negative, [however],when group identity is defined in ways that dehumanize people outside the community; the other is seen not as a person but as an object posing a threat. Once this dynamic is in place, otherwise unthinkable behavior can be justified as a means to the end of reinforcing and protecting group identity.” (p. 134) “When people are called upon to do violence to their neighbor in the service of a righteous cause, they should know that something is dreadfully wrong. In the end, human beings remain responsible for their actions.” (p. 133)

5. Declaration of holy war “Declaring war ‘holy’ is a sure sign of corruption."

Then, there are those who believe in evil, however, they only search for evil outside of themselves, outside of their country, outside of their race, religion, class, etc. with the assumption that the greatest evil exists in the other religion, the other government, the other person. These are the people who are often chosen to host the "invisible worm".
